Our mission is to reinvent the indoor public market as a civic institution, in the City of New York.

To be comprised of butchers, grocers, mongers, and other retail and wholesale purveyors, New Amsterdam Market will join New York’s thriving Greenmarkets to support regional economies; pioneer innovative distribution systems; make healthy, whole ingredients accessible to all; and revive this city’s rich and storied public market legacy.

New Amsterdam Market will grow incrementally and meet with increasing frequency until it is housed in a permanent, indoor, public venue. To date, we have met three times in covered, public settings.
